The EDEF’s commitment to music and art will once again be clearly displayed this September through ‘Siegfried’, the work that it will be sponsoring at the Campoamor Theatre.

This is the third part of Richard Wagner’s Ring Cycle. The EDP Foundation has collaborated with the Oviedo Opera right from the start of the Wagnerian cycle, in September 2013 with ‘The Rhine gold’, its continuation in September 2015 with ‘The Valkyrie’ and its consolidation at the beginning of the next season with Siegfried. With the staging of Wagner’s ‘The Ring of the Nibelung’ in the Asturian capital, the EDP Foundation will be the main sponsor of the first work in the forthcoming opera season at the Campamor Theatre.

Four seasons ago the Oviedo Opera began an ambitious Project that represented one of the great pieces of unfinished business for the second oldest opera cycle in Spain: the staging for the first time of Richard Wagner’s Ring Cycle at the Campoamor Theatre in the 70 years that it has been organising seasons. Right from the start of the Wagnerian cycle, in September 2013 with ‘The Rhine gold’, its continuation in September 2015 with ‘The Valkyrie’ and its consolidation at the beginning of the next season with Siegfried, the Oviedo Opera has been able to rely on the EDP Foundation’s collaboration, which has shown a firm commitment to culture in the regions where it has established its presence.

EDP’s support for music will also be highlighted at the forthcoming 66th Santander International Festival, which will take place this summer in the Cantabrian Autonomous Community.
