The EDP Foundation is collaborating with the Galbán Association (Association of families with children with cancer) in its initiative that is being held on the 17th of February, the 1st Galbán Race Against Child Cancer!

16 fun runs will be held at the same time in 16 different municipalities in Asturias, and all of them will be over a distance between 2 and 5 kilometres. The aim is to raise funds to meet the needs of the little patients and their families.

In order to raise the profile of the race, members of the Lateral sports group have set themselves the “LateralCorreConGalbán” (Lateral Runs With Galbán) challenge which consists of running all the races in less than 24 hours. To meet their challenge, they will travel 700 km by bus and then on top of this they will run about 50km.

All the benefits obtained will go to the Galbán Association to meet the needs of the boys and girls suffering from cancer and their families, and to meet the needs expressed by the Central Hospital of Asturias (HUCA) for the children’s healthcare and to improve their quality of life, and for child cancer research.
