The Generation of ’27 performer and music researcher Samuel Diz, the duo made up of musicians Emilio Moreno and Aarón Zapico, and the string trio “Enol Ensemble” will convene at the Oscar Niemeyer International Cultural Centre for a new edition of “Suena la Cúpula” concerts.
The EDP Foundation is sponsoring this musical season, which brings classical and contemporary music to the public. Tickets, which cost 5 euros, are on sale at the reception desks at the Niemeyer Centre and La Laboral City of Culture in Gijón, on 902 106 601 and on the Liberbank - Entradas (Tickets) website.
At 1:00 pm on Sunday, October 7, Samuel Diz will unearth original music from the Generation of ’27, putting on a literary concert with scores for classical guitar by Manuel de Falla, Rosita García Ascot, Salvador Bacarisse and Roberto Gerhard.
At 1:00 pm on Sunday, November 7, the duo of Emilio Moreno and Aarón Zapico will be presented to the “Suena la Cúpula” audience to offer a selection of pieces for violin and harpsichord by Luigi Boccherini, others by their own contemporaries and also some of their own.
Finally, at 1:00 pm on Sunday, December 23, the trio Enol Ensemble will close the musical year with a performance of the "Goldberg Variations", one of the most famous works in the history of music, composed by J. S. Bach and published in 1741. On this occasion, the version presented will be one adapted for a string trio by Dmitry Sikovetsky.
