Students from the Colegio María Inmaculada school in Pola de Laviana will be helping in the initiative for the first time ever.
The initiative seeks to raise awareness among the schoolchildren of Asturias about the importance of looking after the environment and of the need to protect biodiversity, along with respecting the rivers and fauna. The schoolchildren will be releasing 10,000 young brown trout, which have been bred at the Association's facilities.
This will be the climax of the restocking carried out by the Association during this campaign, when 150,000 fish have been released.
For many years now, the EDP Foundation has been involved in this initiative to restock the rivers with fish and which aims to achieve sustainable development in all areas where the company operates.
The economic newspaper Expansión recognised the organisation as a ‘sustainable institution’ at the sixth edition of the ‘Innovación + Sostenibilidad + Red 2020’ awards
