The EDP Foundation is to support the "Ayuda en Acción" solidarity concert at 20:00 h on 28 May at Madrid's Teatro Real. The conductor will be Pablo Heras Casado, leading the Madrid Symphony Orchestra for the fifth year running.
The concert is part of the ‘Acordes con Solidaridad’ initiative and the ‘Aquí también’ programme , seeking to generate equal opportunities on the basis of the values of music. On this occasion, the repertoire will be the ‘Romeo and Juliet’ Fantasy Overture and the Symphony Nº 5 in E Minor, by Tchaikovsky.
This year's event is very special indeed, since it features a choir arranged by the Ayuda en Acción organisation, composed of children from the Ramiro Soláns and Joaquín Costa schools in Zaragoza. The repertoire will begin with choral versions of the March and Russian Dance from The Nutcracker by Tchaikovsky.
The entire proceeds, 100% solidarity, will be donated to Ayuda en Acción's ‘Aquí también’ programme to combat child poverty in Spain, benefiting almost twelve thousand children and their families.
Tickets may be purchased on the website, at the Teatro Real box office, or by phone on 902 24 48 48, price 10 euros. There is also a zero row for donations.
Luz Minera is the title of the winning project of the second Public Art Ideas Competition, a competition organised by the EDP Foundation.
