The EDP Foundation at the Technical Conference for Foundations in the Principality of Asturias

The Spanish Foundations Association (AEF) has organised an event at the Circus Space in Oviedo about innovation and social responsibility entitled “Foundations, companies and society: a necessary relationship”. At this conference they have dealt with various subjects aimed at enabling not only the business sector but also foundations and private donors to reflect on the role that they can play to build a more cohesive and equitable civil society.

Isaac Pola, Minister of Employment, Industry and Tourism in the Principality of Asturias; Javier Nadal Ariño, President of the Spanish Foundations Association; and Armando Adeba García, representative of the Autonomous Foundations Council in the Principality of Asturias took part in the event. Representatives of six foundations also attended.

Vanda Martins, managing director of the EDP Foundation, was responsible for providing a breakdown of the expectations of corporate foundations. In her presentation she stressed, as key issues for a corporate foundation, the existence of a business-aligned strategic vision, increasing cooperation with interested parties, optimising its activities, and finally, measuring the impact of its actions.
