The EDP Foundation, at the Madrid Book Fair

The EDP Foundation has joined in the 76th Madrid Book Fair. It took part last weekend in various activities with the Viva Nuestra Energía education programme. The Madrid Book Fair began on Friday the 26th of May and will go on until Sunday the 11th of June.

On Friday the 26th, the chairman of EDP Spain, Manuel Menéndez, the CEO of EDP Spain, Miguel Stilwell de Andrade, and heads of the company and the EDP Foundation attended the opening of the Fair, carried out by the King and Queen of Spain and the president of the Republic of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa. Portugal is the featured country at this year’s Fair.

On Saturday the 27th and Sunday the 28th, more than 400 children took part in the Viva Nuestra Energía education programme, which took place in the Bandstand in the Retiro Park in Madrid. The programme held 24 sessions and will be back on the next two weekends (3rd, 4th, 10th and 11th of June).

On Monday the 29th the director of the MAAT (Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology in Lisbon), Pedro Gadanho, also took part with a talk in which he presented the museum and the activities that it carries out.

The Madrid Book Fair is the stand-out cultural event in Madrid. Since it was first held it has attracted thousands of visitors. This year it has focused on the cultural reality of Portugal, with activities linked to literature, cinema and music.
