The 10th International Printmaking and Art on Paper Festival is on from 25 to 28 November at Bilbao's Palacio Euskalduna. With a broad artistic range of national and international graphics, it also features conferences, debates, live demos and workshops, relayed from the platform www.figonlinefair.com
This year the guest country is Portugal. The physical proximity of both countries boosts mobility and synergies between artists' research projects, to assist their movements around cultural circuits in Spain and Portugal.
EDP Foundations in Spain and Portugal have teamed up to showcase both fully-fledged and up-and-coming Basque artists.
EDP Foundation Executive Director Vanda Martins will be at the round table on “Art and Collectionism: Analysis of current trends”; moderated by Ianko López, curator, critic and journalist; and it will also feature María Beguiristain, head of Art and Exhibitions at Santander Foundation; Jaime Sordo, head of the 9915 Contemporary Art Private Collectors’ Association; and Natalia Zubizarreta, interior decorator and collector. The focus will be on current trends in collectionism and the ins and outs of the trade. It will be held on 26 November at 17:00 in Palacio Euskalduna, Bilbao.
Portugal's EDP Foundation will be presenting ELECTRA, its international contemporary thought and culture magazine, which questions the spirit of the times we live in, and reflects on their complexity and their symptoms: the ideas, tendencies and currents that drive our era.
Luz Minera is the title of the winning project of the second Public Art Ideas Competition, a competition organised by the EDP Foundation.
