Málaga’s genius par excellence will be visiting Asturias for a few months. ‘Eternal etchings’ is a collection of etchings by artist Pablo Picasso, the star feature of which is Vollard Suite (1930-1936), one of the few complete series in the world, in which the painter depicts his personal life, his obsessions, interests and artistic influences. Composed of approximately one hundred works, it is the last word in 20th century etching.

The thirteen Burial of the Count of Orgaz etchings (which he brought out in 1969, in homage to Spanish pictorial tradition) will also be on display, along with the nine Les Cavaliers d’Ombre etchings (1951-1953) and four more: Portrait of Dora Maar (1939), Woman in the armchair (1947), Head of a Woman. Françoise (1974) and Jaqueline black handkerchief red dress (1958). The exhibition will also be displaying some of the artist’s notebooks and bibliophile books.

The exhibition will be open to the general public from 20 February to 31 May, from Wednesday to Sunday, from 11:00 h to 14:00 h and 16:00 h to 19:00 h at the International Oscar Niemeyer Centre Dome (Avilés).
