In Madrid, Asturias and Seville, working in co-operation with local food banks, volunteers helped to sort non-perishable foodstuffs and distribute them among various social aid associations.  

Also in Madrid, volunteers spent time with the 25 children aged 4 and over who have their mid-day meal each day at the city’s Nuestra Señora de los Desamparados shelter.

In Zaragoza volunteers worked with the Hermandad del Refugio association to distribute foodstuffs and with the Gota de Leche kindergarten group in the day to-day work at their charity kitchen.

This scheme is an extension of the earlier Kilo de Solidaridad (“kilo of solidarity”) campaign. Inthis way EDP Renováveis promotes participation throughout the process, from collection, sorting and selection at food banks to support in shelters and charity kitchens, where volunteers are in direct contact with the needy.
