With water as their core theme, the volunteers worked to build an artificial islet where birds can roost. They also built stone benches, helped to naturalise the drainage channel and planted riverside plants around the Valcabadillo lagoons. The day ended with a guided tour of the Marta y Maté winery, which produces Designated Origin Ribera de Duero wine in the vicinity.

The participants again confirmed how committed EDP Renováveis is to environmental protection, in terms of both sponsoring and co-operating on studies and projects and encouraging employees to volunteer for hands-on actions in their leisure time and even during working hours.

This volunteering scheme is part of a global campaign entitled “Parte de Nos Forestas”, which the EDP Group is promoting wherever it operates.
