In this 4th edition students from Los Corrales and Osuna in the province of Seville, Vilalba and Bot in Tarragona and Borja and Tauste in Zaragoza will have the chance to receive aid ranging from €500 to €3000 depending on the level of education in which they are studying. The deadline for applications is the end of September. The scholarship is divided into three sections: Infant Education, Primary and Secondary; Upper Secondary and Vocational Training; and University Education, with the highest amounts being granted for this last section. 

The mayors of the towns and villages involved have met with delegates of EDP Renováveis, and are now to publish the calls for applications for scholarships, with the terms and conditions and the documents required.

In October the municipal councils will submit the applications received and Fundación EDP will select the most deserving cases between the end of October and mid-November.

Last year EDP Renováveis awarded 90 scholarships to children from various regions of Spain, Portugal, Poland and Romania where it operates. In Spain there were 63, with a total value of €42,000. For the third year in succession the company decided to double the number of scholarships awarded, in view of the number of applications and the economic hardships suffered by many of the towns where it operates.
