“EDP Solidarity 2015” to back eleven projects in Spain

09.28.2015

The EDP Foundation has completed the assessment process of the projects submitted to “EDP Solidarity 2015”. The Foundation has selected 11 out of the 37 proposed actions and they will receive a total contribution of 344,000 euros. The projects include the “Programme to Combat Poverty and Social Exclusion” by the Red Cross in the Basque Country, the “integral Development Project for Children with Cancer and their Families” by the Galbán Association of the Principality of Asturias, or “Energy Efficiency: an Employment Opportunity for Vulnerable Young People”, by the Tomillo Foundation of Madrid.

The successful projects were selected by a jury, whose members were the heads of the different divisions of the company. The projects will soon get underway under the supervision of EDP managers and volunteers.

“EDP Solidarity 2015” is an EDP Foundation initiative that aims to help improve the quality of life and facilitate the integration of the most deprived. The scheme backs projects aimed at offsetting the most priority social needs, by fostering a better quality of life for the people affected, the integration of the communities at risk of social exclusion and promoting employment and entrepreneurship. This is all implemented through sustainable projects in the areas where EDP operates.
