Students at the University of Oviedo, who took this course under the EDP Foundation scholarship programme, will collect their diplomas on Wednesday, July 15. The rector of the University of Oviedo, Vicente Gotor, and the director of the EDP Foundation, Nicanor Fernández, will present the diplomas at an event to be hosted in the Aula Magna (main hall) of the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Oviedo. Accreditations begin at 10:30 a.m. and the event at 11:00 a.m..
The students began their training period in October. Since then, they have carried out their work experience at various work centres of the company. EDP Foundation scholarships, which are the result of an agreement signed with the University of Oviedo, are provided with 2,170 euros. Each of the alumni is assigned a tutor to help and supervise their work. The 2014-2015 course included 175 students from more than 30 specialities. The Business Administration and Management and Industrial Engineering degrees stand out, with 44 and 25 students, respectively.
In addition to the agreement with the University of Oviedo, the EDP Foundation has agreements with other Spanish universities and schools to encourage the training of more students in the different work facilities and centres that the company has in other communities. Thus, more than 20 students carry out work experience in Madrid, Barcelona, La Coruña, Valencia and Zaragoza.
The EDP Foundation scholarship programme is one of the most important initiatives that the Foundation itself undertakes and the most noteworthy work experience plan of the University of Oviedo.
