Unveiling of the Naturgas Energía U-23 team for the season

02.07.2013

The Naturgas Energía U-23 team is about to embark on its sixth Energía season and on 7 February, the Basque Cycling Foundation officially unveiled the squad of technicians and riders that will make up the Under-23 Naturgas Energía team for the 2013 season. The squad is embarking on its sixth season with seven new signings, six of whom are youth riders who stood out in different teams during the last season.

The Álava Provincial Councillor for the Basque Language, Culture and Sport, Iciar Lamarain was present at the event, along with the Chairman of the Basque Cycling Foundation, Miguel Madariaga, and the Director for Institutional Relations, Antonio Oña, who stressed the energy company’s commitment to supporting grassroots Basque cycling and amateur sports in general.

The Under-28 Naturgas Energía team was set up six years ago with the dual goal of enabling the sport, academic and personal grassroots training of up-and-coming young cyclists. It is an initial level where the up-and-coming young cyclists can show their potential and acquire the most comprehensive training to access the professional level.
