The EDP Foundation is yet again hosting the Spring Fair, when drawings about nature are swapped for trees. This event will be held in Oviedo, Santander, Bilbao and Gijón. In total, 4,000 cherry tree seedlings will be given out.

The EDP Foundation is organising this scheme for the third year with a dual goal: on the one hand, to improve biodiversity by means of planting trees and, on the other hand, to raise awareness among children on the importance of looking after the environment.

The children will just have to make a drawing about nature on the EDP Foundation template to take part in this initiative.

The Fund for the Protection of Wild Animals (FAPAS), an NGO with which the EDP Foundation has run numerous projects linked to conserving and protecting the environment are also involved in this scheme. Thanks to the reforestation initiatives, over 80,000 trees have been planted with the dual objective of increasing the forest stands and producing fruit to feed the local fauna, thus helping to improve the biodiversity.

Venues and times:

• Oviedo: Monday 4 April, starting at 4.00 p.m. in the Plaza de la Gesta square.
• Santander: Tuesday 12 April, starting at 4.00 p.m., in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (City Hall Square).
• Bilbao: Thursday 14 April, starting at 4.00 p.m. in the Plaza de Indautxu square.
• Gijón: Monday 18 April, starting at 4.00 p.m. in the Plaza del Instituto square.
