On Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 May, the Kursaal Palace in Donostia-San Sebastian hosted the concert by the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, sponsored by the EDP Foundation, and was lit up by the latter's logo. This leading orchestra was conducted by Juanjo Mena, the Basque conductor who was the artistic director and conductor of the BOS –Bilbao Symphony Orchestra between 1999 and 2008.
The concert also featured the outstanding Polish violinist, Boris Belkin, who performed Bruch's Violin Concerto No 1. The British orchestra also played a selection from Prokofiev’s famous ballet, Romeo and Juliet.
Luz Minera is the title of the winning project of the second Public Art Ideas Competition, a competition organised by the EDP Foundation.

On 31 May the Oviedo Philharmonic Society is organising a solidarity concert backed by the EDP Foundation, featuring Ukrainian conductor Yuri Nasushkin, in support of Ukraine.
