This year’s festival has been held in Vitoria-Gasteiz, under the slogan ‘Gertu’, which refers to the inclusion of disadvantaged groups and social aims. The school in charge of organising it has been the Ikastola Armentia and the proceeds will go to setting up a system of grants so that this publicly-funded private school will be open to all families, regardless of their financial situation, and to developing the educational project at the school and improving its sports facilities. This initiative aims to move towards a more inclusive education model in all areas.
Thousands of people have enjoyed the various activities organised in a circuit with four areas, located in different parts of Vitoria-Gasteiz (The Prado park, the El Mineral area, the ikastola itself and the open fields in Armentia). There was no shortage of workshops, craft products, sport and music, which could be found in all the areas.
This year for the for the first time the programme has broken with the usual arrangement of the play areas based on age and has been held in a circuit covering just a few kilometres, with the aim of creating an “interactive, entertaining and multicultural” event, according to its organisers.
