The Historical Demographic Association (ADEH) is a scientific society, working in Spain and Portugal, which since 1983 has worked on promoting the study and knowledge of the population of the present and past from an interdisciplinary perspective.
As part of its activities, the ADEH seeks to facilitate the exchange of ideas and information, working with other associations and organising international congresses on different demographic topics.
EDPR, together with other leading companies, the University of Castilla la Mancha and different public corporations, sponsored the X ADEH International Congress, held in Albacete between 18 and 23 June 2013.
The congress celebrated the 30th anniversary of the aforementioned Association and brought together 500 specialists in the subject. The EDPR representative was invited to take part in the closing session of the symposium, when he explained the important contribution that wind power parks make to the socio-economic development of the rural zones. He therefore stressed the benefits of wind power for those areas, such as job creation, boosting the local economy and avoiding population drains.
