With science as the main focal point, and also featuring poetry and audiovisual creation, the 'Passion for Knowledge' festival starts on September 30 in San Sebastian and is sponsored by the EDP Foundation. In addition, the cities of Bilbao and Pamplona and town of Bergara will also host activities. The initiative aims to disseminate scientific culture in a simple, attractive way. Seven Nobel laureates and lecturers from Oxford University and Harvard are this year's star guests. The event has been organised by the Donostia International Physics Center (DIPC).

The programme includes several keynote lectures, meetings with secondary school students and workshops in collaboration with approximately a hundred educational centres. Among other topics, the speakers will talk about astrophysics, cosmology, quantum physics, botany and biomaterials in a relaxed, enjoyable tone. The activity with the highest demand is the Naukas Passion session, featuring the most popular disseminators in Spain. In addition, the next few days will see the opening of an exhibition entitled 'Creativium', which invites us to reflect on creativity from different points of view.

The organisers estimate that this edition of the event will attract about 10,000 people. Most of the activities have free access, although it is necessary to reserve a place on the event’s official website.
