The latest edition of the Martín González del Valle Scholarship programme is now underway and will get off the ground after the virtual welcome that we will give our 83 students via the University of Oviedo's social networks. These students will join EDP for practical training during the 2020-2021 academic year.
The welcome day for the scholarship programme will, for the first time, take place by means of a digital event that will be broadcast live from EDP Spain's account on the Facebook platform. The free-to-air broadcast will feature the participation of Elisa Miguélez, Vice-Chancellor for Students at the University of Oviedo, and Vanda Martins, Executive Director of the EDP Foundation, who will connect from their respective remote work locations.
The students, who will start on November 3, will be assisted at all times by a tutor, who will train, help and supervise their work. In addition, tomorrow they will receive training on Microsoft Teams from their future colleagues. In these introductory sessions, they will learn about important aspects about the EDP Group's activity, thus facilitating their learning and integration into the company.
This course will run differently due to the health situation we are experiencing and, where possible, students will complement their academic training in the different areas and work centres with working from home. To make this possible, the EDP systems department will provide all scholarship holders with laptops.
You can follow the course on our Facebook page HERE.
