The EDP Foundation has finished the assessment process for the projects submitted for “EDP Solidaria 2017”. Out of the 76 projects that were submitted, the Foundation has selected 19, which will receive overall financial support worth 575,000 euros.
These projects include “Spreading Dignity “ by Cáritas Diocesana from Bilbao in the Basque Country; “Incorporating people suffering from mental illness into the workforce as Personal Assistants, within the framework of the Dependent Care Law “ by FESA/FEAFES/Asturias, in the Principality of Asturias; or “No More violence/We are the solution”, by Apostólicas CJ- Comunidad de Obras Sociales, in Madrid.
The selection was made by a jury made up of heads of the different areas of the company and representatives of B2B customers. The projects will be carried out shortly under the supervision of volunteer managers from EDP.
"EDP SOLIDARIA 2017" is an initiative promoted by the EDP Foundation whose main aim is to help to improve the quality of life of the people in the areas where EDP carries out its activities, by supporting sustainable projects aimed at addressing the most pressing social needs, promoting improvements in the quality of life and integration of people and groups who are most vulnerable and at risk of exclusion, as well as promoting employment and entrepreneurship.
Luz Minera is the title of the winning project of the second Public Art Ideas Competition, a competition organised by the EDP Foundation.
